Mission Statement

St. Theresa Catholic School fosters the development of the whole child: spiritually, intellectually, socially, physically, and emotionally. The message of the Gospel is integrated throughout the curriculum as we influence students and families to be lifelong learners and dynamic agents of change. Our ultimate goal is to prepare students for the service of God and humankind.

Our School History

St. Theresa School opened in 1960 with 120 students and three teachers. Sr. Mary David was the first Principal, as well as the eighth grade teacher. After nine successful years, the school closed in 1969. On August 31, 1994, St. Theresa School reopened with 121 students.

School Facts

  • The Little Flower Preschool opened on September 2003.
  • St. Theresa School became fully accredited in June of 2003 by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges / Western Catholic Educational Association. (WASC/WCEA)
  • One of the best student to staff ratio in K-8 education
  • Only accredited elementary and middle school on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe.
  • Full-day kindergarten.
  • Preparation for high school.
